Anna Mae was born and raised in Eckley, Colorado graduating Eckley high school in 1951. Later that year she would marry Melvin Stults. Once Melvin finished his Air Force service they would settle down to farming and ranching south of Eckley. In 1963 they moved to a farm Southwest of Vernon. Anna Mae had a very busy home life raising 5 children cooking, cleaning, and helping to work on their farm, ranch, and feedlot. Somehow she found time to enjoy playing the piano and organ. She frequently played the organ for Sunday church and weddings. She also had a passion for plants, and could often be found in her greenhouse, and even worked at a local flower shop for years.

Anna Mae and Melvin traveled a lot, as Melvin was a pilot.  They belonged to International Flying Farmers. Many Saturdays, they were flying somewhere for a “Fly-In” pot-luck lunch.  They also flew to many other states, attending Flying Farmer’s. In 1974, Anna Mae was crowned Queen of the Colorado Chapter, of International Flying Farmers.  Other travels included a trip to Hawaii, and two weeks in Israel. Years later, Anna Mae would take on a new career as a nanny.  She spent years in Denver with the same family, before becoming a “grandma-nanny”. Anna Mae moved to North Carolina in 1995, and then to Texas in 1999, as she nannied for her daughter Julie. In 2008, she retired and returned to Colorado, living in Loveland.

There she enjoyed her little lap dog, played the piano, and played cards with her friends almost every night.  In early 2017, she moved to Akron, CO. As health issues developed, she moved to a Memory Care center in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Edna Rockwell, her five brothers Clayton, Clem, Johnny, and Dallas, her son Robbie, and granddaughter Jesse.
