Dennis Ray Barefoot has been arrested for allegedly shooting his mother.
On Friday around 10:47 p.m. the Longmont Police were called to the 100 block of Rothrock Place, near Third Avenue and Martin Street. They discovered a 69-year-old woman with gunshot wounds dead inside her home.
The Longmont Police obtained an arrest warrant for Barefoot, who was the woman's son. The investigation revealed that he lived in the home with his mother.
Barefoot was arrested and taken to Boulder County Jail.
The Longmont Police do not suspect any other suspects but the investigation is ongoing.
