Longmont, CO - - - Nearly 60 artists will open their studios to the public for free, self- guided tours on September 23 and 24, 2017, between 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. in Longmont, Colorado. The Longmont Studio tour, founded in 2000, enables members of the public to interact on a personal basis with award-winning and nationally recognized artists as well as emerging artists who have been juried into the Tour. The tour includes 36 studios. Many of the artists will be doing informal demonstrations of the art.

The 2017 Longmont Studio Tour is presented by Arts Longmont. Many different styles of media will be represented including oils, watercolors, acrylics, photography, ceramics, encaustics, sculpture, fiber arts, jewelry, glass, printmaking and mixed media.

Those participating in the tour will have the chance to embark on a free, self-guided tour to discover the rich, visual arts community that exists in the area. It is a chance to speak directly with artists in their own creative environment. Original art will be available for purchase.

Studio Tour artists are currently reaching out to the community through a series of free workshops and demonstrations. These art activities are taking place at venues including ArtWalk and the Block Party Festival. Additionally, a preview of the artists’ work will be on display at the Arts Longmont Gallery from September 8 – 24.

For more information, and to obtain a Tour map, contact Arts Longmont at 303-678-7869 or visit the Arts Longmont Gallery at 356 Main Street. An interactive map can be accessed as well at longmontstudiotour.org.
