Halloween Night Trick-or-Treating

Neighborhood Trick-or-treating begins between 5:30-6 p.m. Following are some safe trick-or-treating practices:

  • Plan a route in advance. Keep in mind that small children may not be able to cover as much ground as older children.
  • Wear comfortable shoes.
  • Stay well-lit, carry a flashlight or glow necklaces.
  • Make sure all costumes are short enough not to be tripped on.
  • Avoid masks that hinder a child's eye sight.
  • Use flexible props and find an easy way to carry them. Children will tire of carrying them quickly.
  • Check your child's candy and discard anything that is questionable.
