The Longmont Oktoberfest, brought to you by Left Hand Brewing Foundation (LHBF), returns October 5-6, 2018.

According to a press release from LHBF, "to date, Longmont Oktoberfest has raised more than $246,000 in donations to charitable organizations." This year's event will benefit the St. Vrain Football Club Scholarship Program and the Left Hand Brewing Foundation.

The St. Vrain Football Club is an organization that promotes and celebrates the game of soccer by offering the sport in a club setting to players of all ages and abilities in the St. Vrain and Carbon Valley areas. This organization believes, "that money shouldn’t be a hindrance to your potential to enjoy the game in a club setting," and has created a scholarship program to help participants.

This year is the seventh Longmont Oktoberfest. Musical talents JJ Grey and Mofro will be headlining the event. JJ Grey will play on Friday, October 5 while Mofro will play on Saturday, October 6. In addition, Saturday "performances will include traditional Oktoberfest music as well as some of Longmont’s most well-known performers," states the press release.

The event is family friendly with activities such as sack races, stein holding contests, a costume contest, bratwurst eating competition, cooking up Colorado's longest brat and tapping the official Oktoberfest keg (on Friday night).
