Books and beer may not seem like a natural marriage, but the Longmont Public Library is changing that with its new quarterly series, “Books & Brews.” The next installment of this literature and culinary pairing is scheduled for Saturday, March 14 from 2 to 3 pm at Collision Brewing Company at 1436 Skyway Dr., Longmont.

So, if you’ve ever wondered what kind of beer a good mystery novel might taste like or read a book you'd love to pair with the flavors of summer, this is the program for you! Come join our librarian as we delve into what good books taste like, the literary qualities of beer, and give your inner bookworm AND your taste buds something new to explore! This is not a book club in the traditional sense: participants will be focusing on how beer can highlight the reading experience, and vice versa. As a discussion group of book and/or brew enthusiasts, attendees are encouraged to bring their knowledge of favorite books and brews and share with others. Because of the location, this program is for those 21 and older, but no registration is required, and absolutely no purchase is necessary to play. Just bring yourself, your friends, and your inner book worm.
