  • Location: Aloha Trading Co., 356 Main St.

We'll be hosting a few Pop-Ups this holiday season, and the first is this Friday! After we discovered Sweet Ada's and started planning to do the Pop-up, Lisa brought us a bag of treats to sample. Everything was even more delicious than I expected. We put some caramels on the counter for folks to sample, and the reviews were unanimous: "Where can I buy these!?"
The answer: This Friday at our Pop-up! Sweet Ada's will be set up in front of the wave wall from 1 till at least 3. Come by for a sample, take some home, or put in an order for Christmas.

The Soundpost Sessions: Chandler Holt CD Release Show

  • Time: 8-9:45 pm.
  • Location: La Vita Bella, 471 Main St.

Best known for his deft touch on the banjo, Chandler Holt is best known for his work with the internationally acclaimed Chatham County Line over the past 2 decades. Fans of the band are also well aware of his contributions as a singer and songwriter over that time. November 2019 will mark the release of “Cover More Ground”, Chandler’s debut solo album on North Carolina’s Robust Records label.

The twelve tracks on ‘Cover More Ground’ feature eleven original compositions penned by Chandler. Eric Wiggs recorded and engineered most of the project at Vermilion Road Studios in their hometown of Longmont, CO. Wiggs also contributes a wide array of sounds on most every track including guitars, mandolin and dobro. There are other familiar faces including John Teer and Greg Readling of Chatham Co. Line playing mandolin and piano/organ respectively. Mandolin Orange’s Andrew Marlin even adds mandolin on one track. All of the above and other great musicians contribute to a diverse spectrum of sounds but maintain a unified theme throughout the album.

‘Cover More Ground’ is an album that loosely chronicles Holt’s journey of leaving his native North Carolina to his family’s new home in Colorado. Of this Chandler says, “Colorado is a wellspring of talent and inspiration both musically and culturally. There are so many inspiring musicians and songwriters all over the state and they helped ignite something in me that needed to get out. I’ve found a great home here in so many ways and this album shares plenty of that with the listener.”
