Friday, October 18

Carrie the musical

  • Time: October 18, 19, 24, 25, 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Carrie White is a misfit. At school, she’s an outcast who’s bullied by the popular crowd, and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home, she’s at the mercy of her loving but cruelly over-protective mother. But Carrie’s just discovered she’s got a special power, and if pushed too far, she’s not afraid to use it…

Based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel, this cult favorite is bloody well perfect for your Halloween enjoyment.

Oystoberfest, Celebrating love for Oysters, Fresh Seafood + Fun

  • Time: Oct. 18-19 at 5 p.m.

Friday and Saturday oyster and seafood specials. Sample 9 different oysters a day with beer and wine pairings. Caviar, oyster shooters, all you can eat oysters, champaign and live music.

Day of the Dead exhibit

  • Time: currently running until Nov. 2, 9-5 p.m
  • Location: Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Rd.

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a time to honor and celebrate deceased loved ones. In partnership with the Denver Botanic Gardens, the Longmont Museum is proud to showcase an exploration of the iconic female figure known as La Catrina in this exhibition. One of Día de los Muertos’ most recognizable icons, La Catrina was born out of Mexican social satire depicting the upper classes and is still seen today in celebration of the holiday. Experience this rich history and iconography through colorful calaca (skeleton) sculptures created by artist Ricardo Soltero. Altars for the dead created by community members are also a central part of the exhibition.

Halloween Shoot

Writer's Workshop!

When poets gather in a community to write new poems, each poet may well break through old habits and write something stronger and truer than before. To help this happen we work together to create an atmosphere in which everyone might feel free to try anything.

Family Storytime w/ Longmont Friends of Feral & Abandoned Cats

We're excited to host this special cat-themed storytime that will include a fun presentation from a local non-profit, the Longmont Friends of Feral & Abandoned Cats.

We'll have plenty of cat stories and information about keeping Longmont's cats healthy and safe. Join us to learn celebrate kitties!

For infants through age 4 and their caregivers.

Montessori: Preparing for a newborn and the first year

Understand Maria Montessori's philosophy and guiding principles. Learn how capable and susceptible a newborn really is.Begin to prepare yourself for this new role and responsibility.Consider how to adjust your home environment to best meet your newborn's needs.

Build Toys for Kids

Put your woodshop skills to use! Come help us build toys for Longmont Kiwanis club to distribute across North and South America to children in need of something fun to call their own. This is a fun activity for all ages!!!

Longmont-to-Boulder (LoBo Trail) Choose Your Own Adventure

  • Time: 9 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.
  • Location: Longmont Recreation Center, 310 Quail Rd.

This 17-mile ramble, open to the public as part of the Life@3MPH Summit (http://www.walk2connect.com/summit2019/) offers beautiful views of the Front Range and plenty of sunshine while connecting three Boulder County municipalities: Longmont, Niwot, and Boulder. We'll plan to take 8.5 hours for the journey, including stops for lunch at Snarf's and tea at Celestial Seasonings. You can either opt in for the entire ramble or join us at any of 4 alternative starting points, all accessible by transit (please note the Saturday schedule on the RTD website). Come out for a fun fall walk in great company!

Dickens Horror Film Festival
