Do your pART: Nature finds its way into "Poor Art"

Do your pART is a new art series where the Longmont Leader will feature the work of local artists.

Vonalda Utterback is an award-winning mixed media artist who is based in Longmont.

Her art has been shown in many local art shows and galleries. Utterback also said many pieces can be found in home collections throughout the United States.

Utterback's art is influenced by the state of Colorado and the natural world.

She said she is still learning "to truly see and feel this influence and then translating those feelings into 3D or tactile works of art."

Her latest work has been inspired by "Arte Povera," which is an Italian art movement from the late 1960s and early 1970s.
