Boulder County is a proud progressive community. We have every right to be.

Over the last several decade's activists and local leaders have worked hard

to enact progressive policy in our cities and in our county government at

many levels. I believe it’s time for the Boulder County District Attorney’s

office to be led by a strong progressive leader as well.

That’s why I proudly support Mike Foote for Boulder County District

Attorney. Mike is a progressive champion on so many causes I care about

like fracking and environmental protection, immigrant rights, and women’s

rights. His record after six years in the legislature proves that he is by

far the most progressive candidate in the race for District Attorney.

He’s been endorsed by leaders of the progressive movement in our community

and even statewide progressive leaders like Attorney General candidate Joe

Salazar because they know Mike is going to lean into issues, expand the

role of the District Attorney’s office, and bring some groundbreaking

changes to the way some crimes are prosecuted in this

community—environmental crimes in particular, where he plans to use the

D.A.’s original jurisdiction in certain cases to take on oil and gas

companies if they break the law.

We need our elected District Attorney to stand up for progressive values.

If the District Attorney in Boulder can’t lead in areas like immigrant

rights, criminal justice reform, and environmental protection than no D.A.

can.

Mike will be a real progressive champion in the office, which is exactly

what this community needs in our next District Attorney. I urge you to vote

for him in the June primary election.
