In 2014, my son Aaron was murdered. Aaron was my youngest child, so he will always be my baby. He was born with developmental disabilities. Yet, as he grew into adulthood, Aaron was able to achieve much of the independence I had always hoped he would. That’s what made his murder even more painful.

In the year between his death and the day his killers were put behind bars I became intimately familiar with our criminal justice system and with the fine men and women of the Boulder County District Attorney’s office. I saw their work up close. I saw their professionalism and the care they took in seeking justice for my son.

That’s why this race for Boulder County District Attorney is personal for me. I want our District Attorney to understand the history of that office. I want our next D.A. to come from that office and this community so they can carry on it’s great tradition of pursuing justice for victims and their families.

Mike Foote is the only candidate who meets that critical qualification.

While Mike didn’t directly work on Aaron’s case, I got to know him well during the process. He’s been a Deputy District Attorney in the office for 14 years now. He knows the staff and knows this community.

Mike is compassionate and caring and he’s spent his career focused on protecting victims here in Boulder County. He’s the right person to carry on the District Attorney’s office’s tradition of service.

With Mike Foote as District Attorney I’m confident our community will be safe and victims will be heard in every single case. I’m proud to support him.
