My husband, Jeff Moore, is running for a second term on City Council, this time as an At-Large candidate. Jeff previously served as City
Council representative for Ward 2 from 2013-2017. He has the necessary experience and can get to work on day-one.

Jeff truly believes that the decisions we make now will affect generations to come.

For example, studies show that existing traffic congestion is going to get worse. There is an immediate need to reduce the number of
person-trips, not only between Longmont and Boulder, but from various locations in nearby counties into and through Longmont and Boulder.

Jeff sees this as a call to action and wants to immediately incorporate rapidly emerging new technology, such as electric buses and self-driving
cars, into our planning. Jeff is eager to look for solutions that can be implemented before 2040 while we wait for rail.

He is advocating for state-of-the-art mass transit options that go more places than rail and can get people to that last mile of their trip. The solutions would have to be convenient and frequent enough to attract riders. He thinks we should partner with and leverage transit plans from CDOT and Boulder County, not just RTD, to provide electric multiple
passenger vehicles (EVs) using improved dedicated bus lanes. We can upgrade the infrastructure we already have and take thousands of cars off the roads.

Jeff also is committed to getting the Transit Center at 1st and Coffman from the blueprint stage to implementation. He wants to make sure it is versatile and can handle many transit options, not just rail, and that it will be ready when EVs and self-driving technology gets here. That day is not as far away as you may think; it will be here before the 2040 train.

We are voting for the future of Longmont. We need someone with independent thought, experience, broad perspective and action-oriented forward-facing vision. Please consider this when casting your ballot and join me in voting to re-elect Jeff Moore.
