32-Year-Old Male Arrested for Attempted Murder

On Dec. 19, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office responded to a medical all in the area of Portico Lane, just outside of Longmont. First responders found a 60-year-old man who had sustained life-threatening injuries due to sustained blunt force trauma. Officers suspected that someone had tried to kill the 60-year-old man.

The 60-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital and later flown to a Level 1 trauma center for care.

The suspect in the case was later identified as Michael Joseph Lucky. Lucky was out on bond for a case involving the victim’s daughter when he allegedly attempted to murder the victim. 

Lucky turned himself into the sheriff’s office and faces charges of attempted murder in the first degree, criminal attempt to commit a Class 1 felony, first-degree burglary, stalking: violating a protection order, violation of a protection order, domestic violence and crime of violence.
