Police are seeking a man suspected of assaulting a girl Saturday night in the 1700 block of Hover Street.

The girl was conducting business in the area when the man assaulted her around 7 p.m., according to Longmont Police Sgt. Matt Cage. The girl did not need medical attention.

The man ran from the area leaving behind a “purple flashlight with the initials “ESL” etched into it and a black beanie cap with a white stripe and patch that reads ‘DP DIESEL POWER GEAR,’” according to a news release.

The man was wearing a large heather gray ski-type jacket with a dark lined hood and darker brown khaki cargo pants, according to police. He was described as having a raspy voice and smelled strongly of cigarettes.

Anyone with information about the assault is asked to call Detective Cassidy Jones at 303-774-4360.
