Two men were involved in a fight on Saturday and one drew a kitchen knife.

Longmont Police arrived at a call in the 1500 block of Collyer Street on Saturday after a report of a stabbing came into the dispatch center.

The fight broke out after one of the men challenged the other who allegedly was "talking shit" about the man. The second man threw a beer at the first man before grabbing a kitchen knife and threatened the first man, according to the police affidavit.

The first man attempted to take the knife away in order to protect himself, according to the affidavit. He sustained a cut to left hand. Police later determined that this was a defensive wound.

The first man was able to get the second man to drop the knife but only after he hit the second man in the face multiple times. Both men exited the house and waited for the police to arrive.

The second man was arrested and taken to a local hospital to be medically cleared before being booked into the Boulder County Jail with charges of second degree assault with a deadly weapon and menacing. He sustained a bloody nose from being punched in the face but no other injuries.
