Stevie Brown, 45, was arrested on April 4 for possessing child sexual abuse material. Brown evaded arrest for a year and was apprehended by the Grand Junction Police Department. The police discovered Brown at a homeless shelter.

The investigation began in February after a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said Brown allegedly distributed the material. Police executed a search warrant for Brown’s home in the 1700 block of Whitehall Dr. in Longmont.

Police seized multiple electronic devices and gained additional search warrants to his internet provider. The police found uploaded data that contained multiple files of sexual exploitation material, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department.

Brown was booked into the Boulder County Jail without bond. He is charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a child - possession, one count of habitual sex offender against children and two counts of failing to register as a sex offender.
