INFORMATION 

An employee of a financial institution on Jan. 7 reported fraud by check that occurred in Boulder. An information report was taken.

AUTO THEFT 

Police on Jan. 7 received a report of a motor vehicle theft that occurred in the 1300 block of South Coffman Street. The vehicle had been left running with the keys in the ignition. 

DOMESTIC INCIDENT 

Police and the Department of Housing and Human Services on Jan. 7 conducted a joint investigation of possible domestic incidents in the 2200 block of 14th Avenue.

WARRANT ARREST 

Police on Jan. 7 investigated shoplifting from a business in the 1000 block of Ken Pratt Boulevard. A man was issued a summons for stealing items, then subsequently arrested on four Boulder County warrants. 

THEFT 

A report was taken Jan. 7 in reference to a theft that occurred in the 2300 block of 17th Avenue. The case is under investigation.

HARASSMENT 

Officers on Jan. 7 took an information report regarding harassment in Boulder County.

DISTURBANCE 

On Jan. 5 at approximately 0849 hours, officers responded to the 1400 block of South Collyer Street for a disturbance. Officers found a man was having a mental health crisis. He was placed in protective custody and transported to a local facility for further assessment.

WELFARE CHECK 

On Jan. 6 at approximately 1547 hours, officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Sunset Way on the report of a man having a mental health crisis. A man was taken into protective custody and transported to a local facility for further assessment.

TRAFFIC STOP 

On Jan. 6 at approximately 2007 hours, officers attempted to contact a suspicious vehicle for a traffic violation in the 1600 block of Lashley Street. The vehicle failed to yield and eluded officers. Due to the reckless nature of the vehicle’s driver, officers disengaged.

THEFT 

Police on Jan. 7 investigated a report of theft in the 1000 block of Gay Street. A man stole a few items and stored them in the neighbor's yard. The man was not located.

WELFARE CHECK 

Officers on Jan. 7 were dispatched to the 2200 block of 14th Avenue in reference to a suspicious vehicle. It was reported that a man was passed out in his car. The man was contacted and there were narcotics in plain sight. He was taken into custody without incident.

MITTIMUS ARREST 

On Jan. 7 a man was sentenced to 20 days in Boulder County Jail for a municipal court warrant.

DEATH 

Police responded to the 400 block of Alpine Street on a death investigation. After further investigation, a deceased 70-year-old male was released to the mortuary.

SEX ASSAULT 

On Jan. 7 at 1103 hours an officer investigated a sexual assault that took place in the 2700 block of East Ken Pratt Boulevard. This case is open and referred detectives for follow-up.

ATTEMPT TO LOCATE 

Officers on Jan. 7 responded to the 200 block of Main Street in an attempt to locate a man. The case is cleared by arrest.

TRESPASS 

Police on Jan. 7 responded to a trespassing report in the 1700 block of Main Street. A man unlawfully entered a locked mechanical room of a business and was using narcotics. The man fled before police arrived.

MISSING PERSON 

On Jan. 7 at about 1553 hours, police took a report of a girl who ran away from the 900 block of Timber Court. 

HARASSMENT 

Police on Jan. 7 took a report of harassment and an assault that occurred in the 2000 block of Sunset Way. After investigation, the suspect was issued a summons. Case closed.
