Longmont police on Monday released photos of a suspect who smashed car windows at Roger’s Grove Nature Area and used a stolen credit card at a local store.

The credit card, which was inside a purse stolen from the vehicle, attempted to purchase more than $600 worth of electronics. The credit card was declined at the register and the suspect fled without paying for merchandise valued at more than $250, police stated in a Facebook post.

Police in the post also warned of many recent smash-and-grab thefts taking place during daylight hours and urged people to leave their valuables at home rather than in their vehicles.
