A 30-year-old man was arrested this week for suspicion of kidnapping and sexual assault of a 17-year-old female victim in Weld County. The suspect, Elvin Andrade Quinones, was booked into the Weld County Jail on the afternoon of July 27. The sexual assault was reported to the Commerce City Police on July 26 at approximately 5:08 p.m. A Weld County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy went to the Travel Lodge at 3820 Highway 119 and confirmed that the assault occurred in Weld County.
According to the victim’s statement, Quinones is a relative who was giving her a ride to Commerce City. Quinones booked a room at the Travel Lodge and allegedly committed sexual assault at the hotel. The victim also described a separate incident three weeks before in South Dakota in which Quinones allegedly fondled her.
Quinones is being held with a $100,000 cash/surety bond. He has been charged with a felony of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust and a felony of second degree kidnapping of a minor to sexually assault. Quinones is scheduled to appear virtually in the Weld County Courthouse Wednesday, August 6 at 8:30 a.m.
