A man in the 1600 block of Main Street picked up a knife — being used to cut a cake — and threatened others from a patio.

According to witnesses, several men were involved in an argument that resulted in the 47-year-old man grabbing a knife and threatening those around him.

Bystanders separated the men, according to the police.

The 47-year-old man was found to have an active warrant for failing to appear in court after being charged with driving while impaired, the police news release states. He was arrested and charged with menacing and transported to Boulder County Jail.
