The 60-year-old man allegedly attacked on Dec. 19 by Michael Lucky died on Sunday. The man — whose name has yet to be released by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office — sustained life-threatening blunt-force injuries. He was airlifted to a trauma center.

Lucky was charged with attempted first-degree murder — after deliberation, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, first-degree burglary — menacing/assault, two counts of stalking and three counts of violating a protection order. He also received four sentence enhancer charges after he turned himself in following the attack on Dec. 19.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office are in the process of amending Lucky’s charges following the death of the victim.

Lucky remains in custody with a $1 million cash-only bond.

Lucky is also involved in two ongoing cases in which he faces charges that include four counts of stalking and one count of violating a protective order for one case. The second case was filed two days later and he was charged with two counts of violation of a protection order.

Officials believe the 60-year-old man is the father of the victim of Lucky’s other ongoing cases.
