Gunshots were heard in the 2800 block of Hartwick Circle Tuesday morning.
A 38-year-old man was attempting to reassemble his gun as he was cleaning it when it fired and hit him in the leg. The incident was ruled an accident according to Longmont Police.
Officers applied a tourniquet to the man's wound until paramedics could arrive on scene.
