Shots heard on Collyer St.

No one was injured in the incident.

A witness in the 800 block of Collyer Street heard gun shots around 7:56 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Longmont Police Department reports that three to five shots were fired in the area of Eighth Avenue and Collyer Street. A witness also reported seeing a man run from the intersection. 

The police were able to contact a victim who indicated the suspect was actually a 16-year-old male and was attempting to contact a former classmate, the police stated.

The suspect was later arrested by the police several blocks away from the scene. Police recovered a handgun in the area and the suspect was transported to the Boulder County Juvenile Detention Center. 

No one was injured in the incident.
