Weld County seeks man on most wanted list

Colton Thompson's car was found in Broomfield

The Weld County Sheriff's Office is looking for information about 34-year-old Colton Thompson. 

Thompson is listed on the county's most-wanted list as a suspect in numerous criminal investigations in Weld County and neighboring agencies, a post from the Weld County Sheriff's Office states. He has an active warrant for second-degree assault.

Thompson was last seen by Weld County Sheriff's deputies on Monday near Colo. 119 and I-25, near Del Camino. Officers attempted to stop Thompson's car when Thompson struck the officer's car, disabling it, according to the post. 

Officials later found Thompson vehicle in an industrial park in Broomfield but were unable to locate Thompson.

The Weld County Sheriff's Office believe Thompson has ties to Weld, Larimer and Boulder counties as well as within the Denver metro area. 

Officers ask that anyone with information about Thompson's whereabouts contact the Weld County Regional Dispatch at 970-350-9600 option 4. Callers can also contact  the Weld County Sheriff’s Office at (970) 356-4015 or Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted through the Crime Stoppers website at www.NoCoCrimeStoppers.com. Those submitting tips through Crime Stoppers that lead to the arrest and filing of charges on a suspect(s) may be eligible for a cash reward.
