Longmont Public Media aims to help residents get ready to vote

LPM this week will be airing local election content on Comcast channels 8 and 880 and has posted a ballot week playlist on its YouTube channel.

As ballots begin arriving in mailboxes and voters begin to dive into the issues and candidates on which they’ll decide, Longmont Public Media this week will be airing local election content on Comcast channels 8 (standard definition) and 880 (high definition). 

The content includes candidate forums for county commissioner, state Senate and House districts, the U.S. Senate and local and statewide ballot measures.

In addition, LPM has created a ballot week playlist on its YouTube channel. Among the offerings currently posted are:

  • The League of Women Voters of Boulder County forum for State Senate District 17, which features Democrat Sonya Jaquez Lewis running against Republican Matthew D. Menza. View it in English or Spanish.

  • The League of Women Voters of Boulder County forum for State House Districts 11 and 12, which respectively feature Republican Mark Milliman versus Democrat Karen McCormick, and Democrat Tracey Bernett versus Republican Eric J. Davila. View it in English or Spanish.

  • The Northwest Chamber Alliance’s forum with incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner, who is being challenged by former Democrat Gov. John Hickenlooper. A similar forum with Hickenlooper is slated for 2 p.m. Thursday. Register here to view it live. 

  • Discussions hosted by Longmont City Councilwoman and Leader columnist Marcia Martin looking at ballot Propositions 113, 114 and 118 and Amendment B.
