I have followed the state legislature's work for several years, tracking bills and even testifying on many of them. Since her election, I have been very impressed with Rep. McCormick's ability to identify issues important for Coloradans, put forth legislation to solve them and then successfully get those measures passed into law.
One policy example she supported to address our housing crisis was HB21-1271 Innovative Affordable Housing Strategies, which gives local governments like Longmont a wider array of tools, technical assistance, and resources to increase the available housing stock. This keeps local government in the driver’s seat and helps communities like ours across Colorado.
Another example is her focus on making behavioral health care more accessible with her strong support of measures such as HB22-1278, a widely supported bi-partisan bill that will streamline our presently disjointed mental health care system, creating a better safety net for people in crisis.
Rep. McCormick gets things done! I wholeheartedly support her re-election this year. She is compassionate, can work with both parties effectively, is extremely available to constituents, listens to others’ opinions, and is always focused on doing the right thing. We are very lucky to be so well represented! Re-elect Rep. McCormick!
