Longmont Costco to open May 4

Warehouse will offer beer and wine, food court, gas station and much more

Costco's Longmont location has set an opening date of May 4.

Longmont’s Costco has officially set its opening for 8 a.m. May 4.

A spokesperson for the company confirmed the opening date and details about the new location at 205 E. Ken Pratt Blvd. on Wednesday. The 152,000-square-foot warehouse will have 220 employees and roughly 4,000 different products.

“We are thrilled to be bringing Costco’s low warehouse prices to the residents of Longmont,” Warehouse Manager Jeff Scheidemantle said in a release. “They have been asking us to open here for a long time, and we already have made an impact on the local job market. We look forward to contributing to the community in many ways.”

According to the release, the location will also have a gas station, fresh bakery, fresh meat, fresh produce, fresh deli with rotisserie chicken, optical department with an independent doctor of optometry, pharmacy, tire center, hearing aid center, food court and beer and wine.

Longmont’s will be the 15th Costco location in Colorado. Previously, Longmont’s nearest Costco was about 18 miles southeast in Thornton.

The warehouse hours are set for 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sundays.

Gold Star and Business Membership will cost $60 a year, including one free Household Card. The Executive Membership upgrade fee is an additional $60 a year for Business or Gold Star Members.

The Costco is expected to bring as much as $4.06 million in new sales tax in the store’s first year of operation. With the project, the city approved incentives for the store worth more than $12 million.
