The Greeley Police Department arrested a 33-year-old woman on Sunday night after she stabbed a 57-year-old-man to death. The suspect is Anissa Hernandez, who reported the stabbing to the Weld County Communication Center. Hernandez said she had stabbed a man and believed he was dead. She was taken into custody that evening and officially was booked into the Weld County Jail on Monday morning.
The report from the GPD said the man suffered from multiple stab wounds and was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The victim’s name will be released by the Weld County Coroner’s Office after the next of kin has been notified.
GPD received the call at 9:20 p.m. and were dispatched to the 1700 block of 31st Street Road. Hernandez was taken into custody without incident and officially booked at the Weld County Jail at 5:15 a.m. Hernandez is set to appear in Weld County court on Monday, June 30 at 8:30 a.m.
