Serve Colorado, located within the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, has been  uplifting communities across the state by harnessing the power of volunteerism to tackle the state’s most pressing challenges for nearly 30 years. AmeriCorps, in partnership with Serve Colorado, is launching a national campaign to spotlight the value of service, its unique opportunity to bring communities together, and the wide variety of programs people of all ages can participate in. The campaign is founded on the principle that everyone has the power to make a positive impact and has an opportunity to find their fit within national service.

“Colorado AmeriCorps members lead with an unwavering commitment to create positive change in the communities they serve and in their own lives. Working in fields such as healthcare, education, finance, agriculture, and environmental conservation, Colorado AmeriCorps members exemplify the spirit of service and embody the hope for a brighter, more sustainable future for our state,” said Colorado Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera.

AmeriCorps is releasing a series of television and radio Public Service Announcements (PSAs) that capture AmeriCorps members in action, designed to motivate people across the state to learn more about the hundreds of programs in Colorado in need of compassionate, dedicated service members and volunteers. These PSAs, available in both English and Spanish, are available for broadcast on radio and television, in thirty and sixty second time slots. The PSAs can be accessed online and are available for download.

Serve Colorado empowers community-based organizations to meet locally identified needs and statewide challenges through service and volunteerism. Guided by the Governor's Commission on Community Service, Serve Colorado administers the AmeriCorps program in Colorado and promotes community service throughout the state to build a culture of citizenship, service, and individual responsibility.
