Boulder Police Apprehend Wanted Suspect After SWAT Response on Pine Street

A coordinated police and SWAT operation safely ended with the arrest of a wanted individual in Boulder on April 30, prompting temporary road closures in the downtown area.

On Wednesday at around 12:50 p.m., the City of Boulder announced on its public safety updates webpage that citizens should avoid the 1400 block of Pine Street while patrol and SWAT officers attempted to “contact a possibly armed and wanted individual inside a residence.” 14th Street was closed between Spruce and Pine due to this incident.

 

The wanted suspect had active warrants out for their arrest for “possession of a weapon and trespassing as well as previous criminal history involving robbery and drugs,” according to the City of Boulder. The city noted that as in every criminal case, the charges against the suspect are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. 

 

At 4:34 p.m., the city announced on its public safety updates webpage and the Boulder Police Department posted on X that officers were safely able to take the suspect into custody without anyone sustaining injury. The police department posted a picture on X of the suspect being apprehended by officers. All closed roads were reopened after the suspect had been apprehended.
