Gamers can register now for the July 22 qualifiers
Gamers, foodies, and festival lovers are in for a treat on September 27! The Longmont Public Library, in partnership with the Friends of the Longmont Library, Longmont Public Media, NextLight, and Children, Youth, and Families, is gearing up for a first-of-its-kind esports tournament and festival. Join us for a unique opportunity to celebrate Longmont’s vibrant gaming culture and explore the world of modern digital literacy in a fun, family-friendly environment.
What to Expect
LevelUp Longmont is an all-day, family-friendly event that is part festival and part esports tournament. It will take place Saturday, September 27, from 11 am to 6:30 pm across three neighboring venues:

The Library’s outdoor patio and meeting rooms (409 4th Ave.)

Longmont Public Media (457 4th Ave.)

The Civic Center breezeway and City Council Chambers (350 Kimbark St.)
What Video Game?
The featured game this year is Brawlhalla, a free-to-play 2D platform fighting game that supports up to 8 players. In Brawlhalla, history’s greatest warriors battle it out in fast-paced arenas to see who’s the best. Players in the qualifiers and the final tournament rounds will be playing Brawlhalla. Want to Compete?
Competitors who place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in a qualifier event can advance to the final tournament on September 27.

The Library will host two days of qualifiers for two divisions: July 22 (13U, ABS) and August 25 (13U, ABS)

Up to 8 players can register for each qualifier

12 finalists (6 per division) will advance to the main tournament

About the Tournament
The final tournament will be played at Longmont Public Media. Twelve players from two divisions – 13U (13 and under) and ABS (Absolute /all ages) – will compete throughout the day in bracket-style rounds. The tournament will be livestreamed at multiple locations throughout the festival so everyone can watch and cheer on the players.
About the Festival
Enjoy food and drinks from Marcos Hot Dogs & Tacos and Sweet Cow. Festival goers can visit vendor booths, explore a variety of games, play tabletop games and field games outside, and engage with community members and LevelUp Longmont tournament players in a vibrant, welcoming space.
