Starting Tuesday June 24, the southbound lanes of Coffman Street will be closed between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue for approximately three months. Traffic will switchover from southbound to northbound only. This is a continuation of construction on the west side of Coffman Street which is progressing from 6th Avenue to 2nd Avenue for the Coffman Street Mobility Improvements project.

General traffic impacts:

  • Only northbound traffic will be allowed between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue.

  • Parking will be prohibited on the west side of Coffman Street on this block.

  • The southbound lanes of Coffman Street remain closed between 3rd Avenue and 6th Avenue. The northbound lanes are open.

  • Both lanes of 4th Avenue just west of the intersection at Coffman Street will remain closed until approximately July 2. No through traffic on 4th Avenue is allowed at the intersection.

  • Access to all businesses on Coffman Street remain open. Some driveways on the west side of Coffman Street may be temporarily closed for short periods.

Post Office access impacts:

  • The drive-through for the Post Office drop box will be closed for approximately three months. You can find nearby boxes by visiting the USPS Find a Location website and choosing “Collection Boxes” as the location type.

  • There will be intermittent closures of the driveway to the Post Office parking lot from Coffman Street for approximately 7 weekdays total. The first closure will be 1-2 days at the end of June or early July. During this time, customers are encouraged to park on Terry Street or the public parking lots on Coffman Street north of 3rd Avenue.

  • Walk-in customers may use alternate postal services at the Marketplace Postal Station inside the Ace Hardware Store at 1727 Main St.
