The Boulder County Commissioners on Thursday will consider approving proposed voting precinct changes, based on changes in the 2020 county census.
The commissioners were scheduled to review the precinct changes Tuesday but the virtual meeting was postponed until Thursday due to technical issues. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 1:15 p.m. via Zoom.
Colorado statutes require that changes in the boundaries of precincts or the creation of new precincts for partisan elections must be completed at least 29 days prior to the first Tuesday in March after the 2020 census data is released, according to the Boulder County Commissioners agenda.
A staff report to the commissioners states that redistricting has decreased the number of county precincts from 240 to 194. Boulder County is now part of the 2nd and 7th Congressional District.
Boulder County also now includes the 15th, 17th and 18th State Senate districts and the 10th, 11th, 12th, 19th and 49th House districts, according to the Clerk and Recorder office.
