About Crafternoon Challenge

Crafternoon Challenge is a weekly craft that kids age 3 to 9 years old can do with help from an adult.

Do This Week's Challenge

See the instructions below to gather your supplies, or pick up a kit at the Library's Children's & Teens' Area, 409 4th Ave. (while supplies last). Then, see the instructions below to make this week's craft!

Supplies:

  • Black construction paper
  • Tissue paper
  • Clear contact paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Instructions:

  1. Fold your black construction paper in half and cut a rectangle along the fold to make the frame for your stained glass. If you’d like, cut a heart, star, or other shape instead.
  2. Cut your tissue paper into small shapes and set them aside.
  3. Stick one sheet of contact paper to one side of your frame.
  4. Then stick your tissue paper shapes to the contact paper to make your stained glass. You can overlap the shapes or not.
  5. When you’re happy with your stained glass, stick the other sheet of contact paper to the opposite side of your frame to finish the craft. Hang in a window so sunlight shine through it.
