Delta variant still dominates Boulder County

The Omicron variant of COVID-19 is not much of a presence in Boulder County, with one recorded case to date, according to data from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. 

The Delta variant continues to dominate recorded cases in Boulder County with 1,104, the CDPHE data states. 

Longmont still has the most cumulative total of COVID-19 cases among Boulder County municipalities to date at 13,186, according to the Boulder County Department of Public Health and Environment’s latest data as of Monday, Dec. 20 . Boulder’s cumulative total is 11,296. 

Meanwhile, Longmont’s percentage of newly reported COVID-19 cases among municipalities in Boulder County is at 29%. Boulder is at 31%, according to Boulder County data.

The county’s positivity rate has decreased to 4.4%. To date, 323 people in Boulder County have died with COVID-19 and 36,754 have tested positive or probable for COVID-19, Boulder County data states. There were also 185 new cases of COVID recorded in the past seven days.
