One warm early spring night, the Girl Scouts troupes from Longmont and the surrounding towns trickled into the assembly room of the Heart of Longmont Church located at 350 11th Avenue, Longmont, CO.

It is award night to honor the girls for the year's accomplishments. Recognizing high cookie sales were among the accomplishments recognized. Cookie sales are the main way the Girl Scouts support their activities.

During the last year they have also visited senior citizens homes and cooked soup for the homeless, among many other activities.

The award night was a moment where they took a break from service to honor their own and tell their stories of what they did. The girls were given the opportunity to speak publicly about what it means to be a good citizen.

The event also saw several girls advance to the next scouting level.
