On Saturday, July 28th, Grossen Bart Brewery in Longmont will be hosting their annual Mane Event, a fundraiser that the brewery puts on for local nonprofits in Longmont.
Taylor Wise, the founder of Grossen Bart Brewery, said in an interview with the Longmont Observer that the beneficiary of this event for the past two years is the Longmont Humane Society.
"It's been really fun working with those guys," said Wise.
Wise stated that there will be a "whole series of different events that go on throughout the day." The event will be hosted from 4 to 10 p.m. Their Facebook event page mentions that the event will include, but is not limited to, a corn hole tournament, giant beer pong, face painting, food trucks and more. There is a $5 cover and 100% of the proceeds go towards the Longmont Humane Society.
Wise continued saying that "this year is extra special" because they will be having Craig Cornett and The Phast & Wreckless perform. Grossen Bart has brewed a beer with the band, aptly named Phast and Wreckless Rye IPA, which will be released that day.
Grossen Bart Brewery has also partnered with Boulder Facial Hair Club to put on a bearded mustache competition, for both men and women.
"Women are more encouraged to compete - it's called the Whiskerina category," said Wise. "They basically build a beard or mustache of some sort and they come out and flaunt the piece that they've built."
"It's a damn good time," said Walter Bourque, head brewer for Grossen Bart Brewery.
