Longmont City Council unanimously approved ordinance O-2018-14 which amends Longmont municipal code regarding after-hours entry or presence in municipal facilities and grounds.

The amendment allows those who are "present while charging an electric vehicle at a designated EV charging station" to be able to enter or remain in municipal facilities and grounds. Previously, this was not possible.

The municipal code, chapter 10.24, section 110, now reads:

It is unlawful to knowingly enter, remain or be on grounds used for or connected with a municipally owned or operated public facility at any time, without permission from the city manager or authorized agent, except when the facility is open to the public or when present while charging an electric vehicle at a designated EV charging station.

No one spoke against or in favor of approving the ordinance.
