Each year the Longmont Fire Department asks the community to donate unused or outgrown bicycles. There are still a few days left to give your bicycles to local youth who may use them.

The Longmont Fire Department is looking for bicycles with wheel sizes ranging from 12" to 24". Bicycles can be new or used but it is preferred the bikes be functional — flat tires are accepted.

The last day for donations this year will be Dec. 10. Bicycles can be dropped off at Longmont fire stations 1, 3, 4, and 5. At this time, donations will not be accepted at fire stations 2 and 6 because crews have not moved in yet, according to a Facebook post from Longmont Public Safety.

All bicycles will be maintained by a group of volunteers and donated to local youth in the spring.
