According to a Meals on Wheels representative, all current Meals on Wheels activity will continue without interruption. People who have been getting Meals on Wheels will not see any disruption of the service.
The Senior Center has been closed and the community lunches at the Longmont Senior Center have been canceled until further notice. Regular community lunch clients can call Meals on Wheels at 303-772-0540 to receive their meals in their homes.
They are now providing curbside pickup for volunteers. Longmont Meals on Wheels staff will meet them curbside in the Senior Center driveway and bring their routes to their vehicles.
If people are willing to donate food, they will accept factory sealed, easy to eat, food items such as fruit cups, instant oatmeal, and granola bars. Also fresh produce.
They will have a shelf outside the west side of the Senior Center (910 Longs Peak Ave. in Longmont) from 9 am to noon Monday through Friday for donations to be left.
They do not currently need any additional volunteers.
