The Longmont Police Department is attempting to find a victim from a felony menacing incident that occurred on June 19, according to a statement made by Longmont Public Safety on Friday. The menacing incident happened between 6:00 p.m. and 6:11 p.m. north of Kensington Park at 100 E Longs Peak Avenue.
The Longmont police took the suspect, Jose Salas, 63, into custody, but would like to identify the victim who left the scene before the police arrived. The victim was described as a “Hispanic male in his late teens/early 20s wearing red shorts, a black shirt, a black baseball cap, and riding a bike,” according to Friday’s public statement.
Salas was booked into Boulder County Jail on June 19 at 9:41 p.m. and charged with menacing with a deadly weapon ( a class 5 felony), failure to appear in municipal court, and obstructing a peace officer. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 24 at 1:30 p.m.
