Longmont has been named one of the best places to live in the West by Livability.com.
The city was ranked 22 out of the 25 best places to live in the western U.S., based on Livability’s Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S. That list is based on more than 50 data points and examines 2,300 cities to narrow down the best places to live in America.
Other Colorado cities on the list included Fort Collins at No. 2, Colorado Springs at No. 4, Littleton at No. 9 and Loveland at No. 25.
A study conducted by Livability in partnership with Ipsos served more than 1,000 adults across the country to determine the characteristics of livability they would value in a prospective home community, with an emphasis on how rising costs are affecting their relocation decisions.
The research found that seven in 10 adults consider affordability to be a top-three factor influencing a decision to relocate.
“People are thinking about where their money goes the furthest right now, as remote work continues for many, and affordability is harder and harder to find,” Editor in Chief Amanda Ellis said. “We highlight the amazing small and mid-sized communities across the U.S., and it’s often these places that stand out when it comes to offering affordability alongside amenities and opportunities.”
