Longmont's third Sister City was formed with the Northern Arapaho.

Longmont Sister Cities announced earlier this month that it is ready to resume its full exchange program with its three sister cities, Chino, Japan, Cuidad Guzman, Mexico and the Northern Arapaho of the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming. The nonprofit is looking for volunteers who wish to chaperone its student ambassadors to these three cities and has extended its application deadline.

Longmont Sister Cities originally set its deadline for Sept. 30. The deadline has been extended to Oct. 8.

Chaperones work with a small group of students from the St. Vrain Valley School District geographic area as they learn, explore and engage with Longmont’s three sister cities.

A total of seven chaperones will be chosen, according to Courtney Michelle, Longmont Sister Cities spokesperson.

Travel for chaperones is reimbursed by the nonprofit and training is available. Chaperones also play a vital role in selecting the student delegates.
