On Tuesday night, Longmont City Council proclaimed the week of May 7-12 as National Economic Development Week.
Jessica Erickson, President/CEO, and Wendy Nafziger, Vice-President, of the Longmont Economic Development Partnership were in attendance to accept the proclamation.
"The idea behind National Economic Development Week is to bring awareness to programs across the country that are promoting a creation of quality jobs that are advancing career development opportunities and improving the quality of life for our communities across the country," says Jessica Erickson.
"The Longmont Economic Development Partnership is the city's economic development partner organization dedicated to serving the community's economic development goals," as stated in city council communication.
National Economic Development Week was created by the International Economic Development Council in 2016 with the purposed to "increase awareness of local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities and increase the quality of life in communities throughout the United States."
