Press release: One-Way Traffic and Driveway Closures Scheduled on Coffman Street August 7–8 and 15–16, Paving Work Planned from 9th Avenue to 4th Avenue

The City of Longmont will repave Coffman Street between 9th Avenue and 4th Avenue as part of the Coffman Street Mobility Improvements project. This work includes milling (August 7–8) and final paving (August 15–16).

Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. The southbound lanes of Coffman Street will be closed on day one and the northbound lanes will be closed on day two of each operation. Drivers should expect one-way traffic, intersection closures and temporary driveway closures based on the location and time of day. Please note that these dates/times are subject to change based on weather and other factors.

Thursday, August 7 – Milling (Southbound Lanes Closed)

  • One-way northbound traffic only between 4th Avenue and 9th Avenue

  • No driveway access (west side of Coffman Street):

    • Morning (approx. 7 a.m. – 12 p.m.): 4th Avenue to Longs Peak Avenue

    • Afternoon (approx. 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.): Longs Peak Avenue to 9th Avenue

  • Access to the RTD Park-n-Ride parking lot at 8th Avenue will be closed temporarily in the afternoon

  • No parking on either side of Coffman Street in these blocks

  • Rolling intersection closures at 8th, Longs Peak, 6th, 5th, and 4th Avenues

 

Friday, August 8 – Milling (Northbound Lanes Closed)

  • One-way southbound traffic only between 9th Avenue and 4th Avenue

  • No driveway access (east side of Coffman Street):

    • Morning (approx. 7 a.m. – 12 p.m.): 9th Avenue to Longs Peak Avenue

    • Afternoon (approx. 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.): Longs Peak Avenue to 4th Avenue

  • Access to The Spoke Parking Garage and the 600 W public parking lot will be closed temporarily in the afternoon

  • No parking on either side of Coffman Street in these blocks

  • Rolling intersection closures continue

 

Saturday, August 9 – Thursday August 14 (Intermittent Lane Closures)

  • Intermittent lane closures of both northbound and southbound Coffman Street between 9th Avenue and 4th Avenue for utilities work

  • No parking on either side of Coffman Street in these blocks

  • Access to driveways will remain open

 

Friday, August 15 – Paving (Southbound Lanes Closed)

  • Same traffic direction and impacts as August 7:

    • One-way northbound

    • West-side driveway and parking restrictions

    • Rolling intersection closures

 

Saturday, August 16 – Paving (Northbound Lanes Closed)

  • Same traffic direction and impacts as August 8:

    • One-way southbound

    • East-side driveway and parking restrictions

    • Rolling intersection closures

Please plan ahead to move vehicles in or out of affected driveways before work begins. Expect delays at intersections and follow posted detours. The City appreciates your patience during these improvements.
