Food shelves at the OUR Center

People across the country struggled to make ends meet during the pandemic, seeking the help of local food banks to find much-needed grocery items.

Community Food Share, a provider to the OUR Center, has served over 40,000 locals with food bank goods. These goods have provided over 140 million meals to families in the Denver-Metro area.

The demand on food banks leaves a constant need to restock their shelves. In Longmont, the OUR Center is asking the community to help by making a donation.

Donations can be made 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the south "donations" door at 220 Collyer St.

Cash donations online or mailded to the center are also accepted.

The most needed items on the OUR Center's list include:

  • Canned protein such as tuna, chicken, ham or peanut butter
  • Dried or canned beans
  • Hearty soups, stew or chili
  • Cereal, hot or col
  • Pasta sauce
