People across the country struggled to make ends meet during the pandemic, seeking the help of local food banks to find much-needed grocery items.
Community Food Share, a provider to the OUR Center, has served over 40,000 locals with food bank goods. These goods have provided over 140 million meals to families in the Denver-Metro area.
The demand on food banks leaves a constant need to restock their shelves. In Longmont, the OUR Center is asking the community to help by making a donation.
Donations can be made 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the south "donations" door at 220 Collyer St.
Cash donations online or mailded to the center are also accepted.
The most needed items on the OUR Center's list include:
- Canned protein such as tuna, chicken, ham or peanut butter
- Dried or canned beans
- Hearty soups, stew or chili
- Cereal, hot or col
- Pasta sauce
- Pasta, rice
- Canned vegetables
- Canned fruit
- Granola bars
- Toiletries such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, brush/comb, deoderant, lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper
- Baby diapers sizes 4-6 only
- Dish soap, laundry detergent, cleaning products
The OUR Center will also accept donations of grocery gift cards.
