Parks & Open Space Hosts Barnyard Critter Day next weekend

Residents are welcome to visit the farm between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for Barnyard Critter Day and learn about the roles of chickens, pigs, horses, and other animals that are typical on a farm and participate in hands-on activities.

Boulder County Parks & Open Space will host the Barnyard Critter Day event on Sunday, June 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Agricultural Heritage Center, 8348 Highway 66 in Longmont.

Residents are welcome to visit the farm between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for Barnyard Critter Day and learn about the roles of chickens, pigs, horses, and other animals that are typical on a farm and participate in hands-on activities.

Visitors to the Agricultural Heritage Center get a glimpse into the history of agriculture in this area while enjoying the rural surroundings and views of the front range. Site Highlights include:

  • Interactive museum exhibits in the red barn.
  • 1909 farmhouse furnished with items from the 1910s.
  • Heirloom garden.
  • Blacksmith shop, old farm machinery.

No pets are permitted to ensure working animals will not be distracted.
