Snow began falling heavier and earlier than meteorologists predicted. The city of Longmont launched their snow and ice operations to begin clearing roads and applying de-icing material as needed.

Snow accumulations are expected to be between 3-7 inches. Predictions indicate that the snow will continue to fall through the night and into Friday morning. NWS also reports that local accumulations could be larger than predicted especially in some parts of Boulder County.

Those out on the roads should expect slippery and hazardous conditions through Friday.

"Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for Colorado can be obtained by calling 5-1-1 or by going to www.cotrip.org," the NWS states in a news release.
