GOVERNOR JARED POLIS

The Polis administration is seeking a development partner to bring to life the new Global Energy Business Park or “Glo Park” in Jefferson County. This Fall, the Capitol Development Committee unanimously approved a land swap that will allow for a Global Energy Park located west of Denver between Lakewood and Golden in Jefferson County.

“We are on a mission to ensure Colorado builds upon our leadership in renewable energy so save people money on their electric bills and reduce pollution. The next step in the development of Glo Park is a great opportunity for jobs, education, Colorado’s economy, and our future” said Governor Polis.

Glo Park, being built on land next to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado is envisioned to be a world-class energy research and commercialization facility where leaders from around the world will come together to tackle the planet’s most complex and imminent energy issues.

The campus will be located in the heart of Colorado’s internationally-recognized energy research and innovation ecosystem and will be an epicenter of collaboration where industry, government, and academia will gather to lead the global transition toward clean, renewable, sustainable, and equitable energy solutions.

The first Glo Park marquee facility will be built on a 9.37-acre parcel of land in the heart of the larger Glo Park area. Developers are invited to partner with the State of Colorado in a long-term ground lease to build the envisioned “north campus,” a suite of buildings housing prominent companies dedicated to the future of energy.

The Glo Park proximity to NREL is expected to support additional partners and increase public-private partnership opportunities just outside of its secure facility next door.

This Colorado State procurement is using the newer process of an Invitation to Negotiate (“ITN”) that allows developers and the State to have substantive discussions and craft the best solution together before the final vendor selection is made.

We invite prospective developers to partner with the State of Colorado and submit proposals in response to the Invitation to Negotiate, located on the ColoradoVSS site. Anyone wanting to submit a proposal must RSVP to the State Point of Contact at [email protected] by February 8, 2022 no later than 2 p.m. MST to attend a mandatory Pre-Submittal Conference on February 9, 2022 at 10 a.m. MST.
