Prayer: The Divine Dance

Who’s leading in your life? In today's interview, watch as Pastor Rick Ebbers of The Journey of Longmont discusses the partnership we have with God when we pray! Pastor Rick is an engaging leader who demonstrates God's deep love for our city and the people of our community. We know you'll enjoy this interview as he illustrates prayer and ministry as a divine "dance".

Interview Highlights

We had a great discussion on prayer, ministry, and our city. In the conversation, Pastor Rick expressed his view of prayer and ministry. He discussed how prayer is absolutely essential and critical. Prayer is part of how God participates in this work and in this world.

Prayer is dialogue, and ministry is participation with what God is doing.

When he thinks about ministry and prayer he says,

“We’re looking for helpful illustrations to help us wrap our brain around this. And the illustration that has helped me the most recently has been this idea of — dance.”

“If you ever watch a really good couple dancing. You’ll see that one person is the lead and one person is the follower, though they are both full-on active participants. And when I look at ministry [I] think that is what it is.”

He continues to explain that we are "co-laborers with Christ", and we are a "full-on participants". Pastor Rick continued to discuss the connection we have in this dance of prayer and ministry saying,

“The Holy Spirit gives us gifts to participate in the ministry He has prepared for us in advance to do”....

“We’re designed to do ministry, and yet it is in partnership with what God is doing, and it’s following God’s leading. So, just this dance.”

…Rick shares so much more insight throughout this interview. Don't miss the full-length interview. We know you’ll enjoy it.
